Hot Air Balloon Festival
& Food Truck Fiesta

CATHEDRAL CITY, CA. – [July 8, 2021] Get the cameras ready for the festival that offers the best selfies.  Agua Caliente Casinos present the 7th Annual Cathedral City Hot Air Balloon Festival and Food Truck Fiesta on November 19-21, 2021 featuring nearly 30 hot air balloons, balloon rides, two balloon glows, and three morning balloon launches seen throughout the Coachella Valley.  Attendees will capture the beauty of several new hot air balloons to the festival this year including Agua Caliente Casinos’ new self-branded hot air balloon currently being manufactured in time for the event.  

“We are eagerly anticipating this year’s Balloon Festival and the inaugural flight of our very own Agua Caliente Casinos balloon,” said Michael J. Facenda, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Agua Caliente Casino Cathedral City. “The inaugural flight and the Balloon Festival coincide perfectly with the one-year anniversary celebration of Agua Caliente Casino Cathedral City’s opening. To be a part of this historic event in cooperation with Cathedral City is exciting and we invite everyone to come and enjoy the celebration.”

Agua Caliente Casinos will also sponsor Cathedral City’s 40th Anniversary Balloon Glow on Saturday night celebrating the city’s birthday with hot air balloons lined along Highway 111 from the Agua Caliente Casino Cathedral City to the city’s Festival Lawn and the new Cathedral City Community Amphitheater.

“The Saturday night balloon glow to music will be extra special this year as it will celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the incorporation of Cathedral City as a municipality,” stated Mayor Raymond Gregory.  “Thousands of people come to this annual activity to watch the sky light up with colorful balloons while dancing to the upbeat music or taking a selfie to post on social media.”

Other activities happening at the balloon festival include the amazing Art Affaire at Town Square art show, the best food trucks in SoCal, Beer and Wine Gardens, Kid Zone, Banana Balloon Candy Drop, and LIVE musical entertainment at both the Agua Caliente Casino Cathedral City and the new Cathedral City Community Amphitheater.  Returning for their second appearance at the festival will be “Hollywood U2” – a spectacular tribute band to the legendary group, U2, on Friday night.  More activities will be announced over the summer including the ability to purchase tickets to the many activities throughout the festival weekend that occurs right before Thanksgiving.  Guests should book their hotel rooms soon at the Westin Mission Hills Golf Resort & Spa, the place where the balloon pilots stay and where the Friday night balloon glow occurs.
